These flash cards are so awesome! There are many things that you can do
with them! Here is a list of ways I used them.
Time of the Day: I showed one card on the elmo and students
would determine the time. Then I would give scenarios of lapsed time
from that particular time. We did this for about 5 minutes before our mini-
lessons for math.
I have used the cards to do a whole group ”Scoot Around the room”.
I have used them in centers. When I used them in math centers, I used
the lapsed time with stories in one center and the multiple choice time
in another. They can complete it individually or with a partner.
Pluck-A-Time- I used the cards with the clocks on them for assessment. Students were in a center. They drew the clocks out of a bag. If they got it right, they kept the card. If they did not get the time right on the card, they put the card back in the bag and the turn moves to the next player. The person with the most clocks at the end wins! However, this gave me a great assessment on who had mastered it and who need to keep working with clocks, whether it was quarter til, quarter after, half past, etc….
