At the beginning of every year our classroom does a time capsule! We fill out our forms the best that we can so that they reflect who we are, in the moment! :)
We don't unseal the time capsule until the last day of school, so we really talk this up! Students fill out the forms, turn them in to me (I always love to read them first) and then we roll them up and put them in a tube! The tube sits in the front of the room, literally all year long, and before we "seal" it up - we try to blow as much sweet August air we can inside!
The students never remember what they wrote and when it's finally revealed in May (hopefully not June!!) they can't believe what their favorite shows once were or how their handwriting once was, etc.
The papers are also permanently in the shape of a scroll, so therefore it's extra fancy and ancient-like when they try to unravel it and read!
It's a fun activity for our classroom, I hope you can enjoy it too!
