Here is the full version of my time capsule. I have also posted a free version which does include one of the one’s included in this package. To use this to its fullest potential, have the students fill out the worksheet at some point in the school year. Once they are all filled out, I would recommend putting them together in a folder marked with their graduation year. Just store this envelope somewhere you will find it in 10 years or so. At some point during their graduating year, hand these out to these students or even mail them. The students may or may not remember filling these out when they were young, but it will be a nice surprise for them to see their handwriting and their favorites from their childhood. Who knows, maybe they will be going off to college to be an astronaut or a teacher. Maybe they will be doing something their childhood minds couldn’t even comprehend at that age. Now they have the opportunity to look back and see those memories. You can also include in this envelope a letter you had written to your students when they were in your class, or as they are about to graduate. Let your students know how much of a joy they were to have in class, or how they affected your life in some way. Let them know about some memories they made in your class and include a class picture so they reminisce the good ole’ days.
I have included these worksheets in both color and black and white. Both worksheets are editable to fit your classroom preferences. Feel free to change the wordings and the colors to match your school colors. Please leave feedback and enjoy!
