I use these worksheets with my students at the beginning of the school year. Students answer questions about their likes, their wishes, their friends and more. They also trace their hand and draw a picture of themselves.
When students are finished, I help them measure their height with a piece of yarn. Then we roll up these worksheets, put the yarn in the middle, and put them in a toilet paper roll. We then wrap the toilet paper roll up in tissue paper. Each student writes their name and the date on the outside. Then I collect all of the time capsules and put them in a container with a tag on them that says, "Do not open until __________" (the Monday of the last week of school).
At the end of the year, student open their time capsules and see how they've grown and changed. You can also have your students redo these worksheets before opening their time capsules.
