Many of my students are at the beginning stages of learning how to manage their time. They often come into my office saying that they are stressed out due to school work, they are feeling like a failure and depressed. Their grade books show that they are missing assignments (but they told me they did the work), their book-bags show they have no organization etc. These all can be symptoms of poor time management.
It is important for the students to be able to think about their weaknesses and be able to think of a way to make better use of their time. This lesson allows the students to think critically about the scenario given to them. After they read the scenario they will pair it with whether or not the person in the given scenario is making good use of their time. Then the students pick a strategy that they feel helped the person either be successful or that they feel would help the person better manage their time.
I left an editable slide, just in case you wanted to create your own too.
The goal is for this activity to promote discussion of what is a good use of time and talk about the given strategies more. Heck, there could be more that you want to add! This can be done in small groups or as a class, it is a flexible activity.
