Use this Time & Money Interactive Notebook to introduce coin values and telling time to your students. These are great reference tools that students can refer back to while practicing these new skills as they work towards mastery of time and money. These hands-on notes can be useful additions to students' interactive notebooks for Math. This download includes two interactive notebooks and their answer keys!
The first interactive notebook is called, "All About Coins." Students will cut out the entire rectangle interactive notebook, and then cut across the dashed lines to create flaps that they can lift and write underneath. Students will only glue down the portion labeled "All About Coins," Discuss with students the value of each coin, describe the features of each coin, color each coin, and discuss how many of the coin is needed to make a dollar. After have students write the name of the coin under the flap.
The second interactive notebook contains a blank analog clock and heading the reads "An hour hand is the short hand, and the minute hand is the long hand." Students will cut out the clock and the heading. Each of these will be completely glue down into their notebooks. This interactive notebook does not contain any flaps as the previous one did. Use the interactive notebook to label the hands of the clock, the minutes around the clock, and what times read o'clock, quarter past, half past, and quarter to with your students.
