Research skills in a sneaky way! Students will constantly go back and forth between research materials and applied understanding of the historical event they’ve chosen. As students create summaries for the historical event and then choose creative projects, they’ll move up and up Bloom’s Taxonomy of thinking and DOK.
Loaded with critical thinking and best practices for gifted education: come along on a fun virtual adventure as students practice different forms of writing, geography skills, computer and internet technology skills, math skills, public speaking, creativity, art—and, of course—historical research!
Make this a daily unit or spread it out over an entire school year as your students’ imaginations take them from one point in time to the next all across the globe (or into the future). Use the assigned tasks to meet Common Core Standards from your grade level—strategically choosing them in a timely manner—or open up a big world of CHOICE to motivate students.
