This simple work can be used to test students' ability to sequence major events from ancient history. A control is included so students can self-check their work. Events included are: Sumerians create the first writing, the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are built, Bronze Age begins in China, Humans paint cave walls, the first Olympic Games take place, Caesar becomes Rome's first emperor, Rome falls and the Dark Ages begin, Nomadic people begin to use stone tools, and Hammurabi's Code creates the first laws. This work can be simple, events and years are connected and students just sequence by date, OR events and dates are on separate cards so students must match and then sequence. These events could also be used to create a large timeline or a research project on Ancient History.
Cards should be printed onto card stock, cut, and laminated prior to classroom use.
