In this 50-60 minute lesson, students will learn why we use timelines and then put 17 key dates to the corresponding events and then write 1-2 sentences that provide important details.
Included in the lesson:
1) Do now question about the purpose of timelines and practice on writing the correct century (ex. 986 is _____ century)
2) Task and rubric
3) List of 17 dates, events, and guiding questions (to help with 1-2 detail sentences)
4) Scaffolding worksheet that allows students to match the correct date with the correct event and then space to write a 1-2 sentence detail description.
Example: 750-900 Large Anasazi Villages Appear. During this time period, Anasazi Villages begin to appear in the southwestern region of North America.
