All the problems together
The theory behind this approach is that by gradually introducing each fact, the student will remember the facts in a shorter period of time. It’s difficult for some students to learn many facts at once. But by focusing on one fact until it is learned and by continuing to review the previous facts already learned, the student will have a greater facility in learning all the facts.
The worksheets are designed with this incremental theory in mind. Each sheet focuses on one fact, with this specific fact appearing two times in each row of the sheet. The specific fact is intermingled with facts that have been learned previously. It is suggested that the student master each sheet before moving to the next. Perhaps a good indicator of mastery would be two minutes on any sheet with two mistakes maximum.
I personally used this approach with my own students as a resource teacher for 32 years and found great success with it. I hope you too will find success with this incremental approach to teaching the multiplication facts.
