This menu project reinforces the application of tax and tip in a restaurant setting.
Prior to having students complete this project, I went to local restaurants and asked for take-out menus. I then let students choose which restaurant menu they would like to use to complete the project. The students are asked to choose a drink, an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert from the menu, then fill in the Menu Project worksheet accordingly.
A work space sheet is included that I have found helpful for students who have difficulty remembering multi-step tasks or who have difficulty organizing their work. A rubric is also included.
