A set of posters with 8 tips for students to enhance their Narrative Writing / Story Writing. These cover common errors in sentence and paragraph construction and help overcoming 'boring' texts that students create, despite being grammatically and structurally correct.
The poster set includes:
1. DIALOGUE! Start a new line every time a new character
starts speaking

2. CAPITALISATION? Don’T uSe raNDom CAPitals. Use capitals correctly.

3. HOW TO BEGIN? Try starting each sentence with a different word. Adverbs are great!

4.PAST TENSE! Usually narratives are written in past tense.
WAS not IS, WERE not ARE

5.ARE YOU IN IT? Choose 1st person or 3rd person narrative – and stick to it!

6.BORING... Avoid repetition of ‘and’ , ‘then’ , ‘and then’

7.RUN ONS! Know when to end a sentence. Don’t run on for too many lines.

8. ENDINGS… Avoid writing ‘THE END’. Your readers KNOW it’s the end, there’s no more text!
