The ill-fated Titanic met its end in the icy waters of the North Atlantic more than 100 years ago.
What was deemed to have been the unsinkable ship went down on its maiden voyage in April 1912.
The horror of its final hours were in stark contract to the upper class luxuries enjoyed in the First Class areas of this doomed ship, so much so that the tale of the Titanic has been recounted in several films and very many books. Titanic memorabilia is of great interest to collectors and continues to fetch high prices to this day.
