Titanic – A Class Project involves the entire class. Students will use the Internet to research and use their oral communication skills to present to the class.
Each student becomes an actual passenger on the Titanic. The passengers for this project were selected to be interesting for students to research and include famous passengers such as John and Madeleine Astor, Isidor and Ida Straus, Molly Brown, and many other passengers that had an interesting story. Students research the passenger’s biography. Many of the passengers are related and/or had interactions on the Titanic.
Story Cards – Each student is either assigned or able to pick out of a bowl a Story Card. These Story Cards are questions in chronological order regarding the story of the Titanic. Each Story Card has at least 2 research questions and most have 3 to 4 questions.
A Class Project can be presented either by the class sharing a Google Slides presentation shared by the teacher, or by students presenting their Story Card answers to the class. A PowerPoint presentation to share in Google Slides or use as a prop if unable to share Google Slides is included.
Each student will present his/her passenger biography and then present the answers to the Story Card.
