Titration is a method of determining the concentration of an acid or base by neutralizing it with a solution of known concentration. This PowerPoint presentation describes the laboratory setup for titration and the procedure for gathering data. Equations for calculations are developed using the mole relationships in a simple neutralization reaction. Polyprotic acids and polyhydroxy bases are also considered. Sample problems for determining the concentration of the unknown and for determining the volume of titrant needed are illustrated.
