The narrator in the story “To Build a Fire” by Jack London makes several mistakes. In this creative writing project, students will create a project that rewrites the ending of the story from one of several possible plot points. Includes options for narrative writing or graphic novel writing with rubrics.
There are several ways that the student could write the ending depending on which of the plot points they chose and how different they think that would make the ending. Teacher may offer students the option to pick their own plot point rather than one of the provided choices.
Students will need to reference the previous events in the text accurately. After that, they have lots of room for creativity.
