Description
Great for use with the story “To Build a Fire” by Jack London, either as an anticipatory set or a concluding project. Includes step-by-step pre-writing process and rubrics for both a narrative essay and a multimedia project. Students will be considering a time when they did not heed advice they were given and reflecting on the outcome.
Students may write about something they experienced or witnessed. The pre-writing process walks students through thinking about a time when they did not heed advice they were given. Then they will narrow the choices, plan and outline the essay. Also included is an activity for students to practice removing unimportant details in their narratives.
After completing the Pre-Writing Worksheet, students will being their essay draft or multimedia project. The Rubric can function as the instruction sheet for the project as it includes everything they need to know for grading purposes.
