This product is to supplement your To Kill A Mockingbird novel study unit. It includes:
*Two vocabulary quizzes
*Writing prompts: Write a letter to Boo Radley and Write an article for the "Maycomb Tribune" about the trial
*Graphic organizers for understanding what was going on and what was said during the Boo Radley Trial
*Character analysis chart for students to fill in as they read
*Template for writing chapter questions: Students write their own questions and answers. You can assign this for each chapter or every few chapters, use as homework to assess comprehension, writing questions and trade with another student in the class, have students create in cooperative groups, or any way you see fit for your students. I've found that they have fun writing their own questions, rather than always having to respond to teacher-generated questions.
*Writing a Theme Paper/Essay Outline: This outline walks students step by step through the process of writing a 5 paragraph theme paper specific to this novel.
I created these for my 8th grade students with low/moderate learning disabilities. It really helped them organize their thoughts and follow the story with greater understanding.
