Did you just finish reading To Kill A Mockingbird and want to students to really pay attention as they watch the movie? I designed this worksheet to get students focused on analyzing the differences between the novel and the film adaptation. The worksheet is set up as a checklist so that students can easily just mark things off as they see them while still enjoying the movie. The front page lists all the characters in the book and the back page lists important events. Each page also has a space for students to write notes for discussion later.
The worksheet is ready to use (just make copies) and has been student-tested and edited after it was used. I noticed a marked improvement in class discussion after using this tool, perhaps because students were more focused while viewing the movie.
