Product Description
This is a collection of resources for guiding students through a Character Analysis essay using Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird"

It contains four documents.

Document 1: TKM Character Analysis Essay Instructions and Prewriting Sheet. This document is four pages long. Page one gives the assignment explanation. Page two is an in-depth explanation / review of what the introductory paragraph should be about. Page three is a reference sheet for how to quote the novel, and page four is the prewriting sheet (from the preview). I've found this prewriting sheet to be very helpful in getting my students to determine if the character trait(s) they have chosen are 'worth writing about.'

Document 2: Character Analysis Essay Rubric - Broken down by paragraph - may be modified to suit

Document 3: Character Analysis Textual Evidence Sheet - a four page document to help guide students into locating relevant evidence / quotes from the novel that demonstrate the character's trait(s).

Document 4: Character Analysis Essay Revision Worksheet - a three page document to assist students in revising. Specific questions to focus student attention and bring awareness to content and sentence variety.
