This product contains the numerous close reading and paragraph writing for various chapters of the novel. I use these materials to help struggling students, especially ENL students and Special Education students. The following is a brief breakdown:
Various excerpts focused on the topic of rumors. Excerpts are followed by questions. Sample included.
An abridged version of the chapter that is chunked and divided with basic questions about each chunk.
An outline helping students determine Tom Robinson's guilt or innocence based on his testimony followed by a template to write about their choice.
Excerpts followed by questions focused on the characters of Dolphus Raymond and Boo Radley and an outline and template helping students determine and discuss their similarities.
Additional items that are not chapter specific include an outline and template having students determine the similarities and/or differences between Aunt Alexandra and the other women in Scout's life, a template to help students discuss the author's use of foreshadowing, a template to help students discuss the differences between the book and the classic movie, a theme tracker for the major topics in the novel, and a class discussion reflection worksheet.
