Students find these PowerPoint mini lessons highly motivating, meaningful, and interactive resources for both the novel and film versions of TKAM. These few slides lay the foundations of cinematic terminology as well as the elements of literature. Students will develop three levels of questions (i.e., fact, interpretation, and beyond the text) to construct meaning, from text and film, using the opening sequences from To Kill a Mockingbird. Students will demonstrate a clearer understanding of Three Ways of Thinking about Film, Elements to Consider, and Storyboarding. Teachers will find it easy to create activities, move the curriculum forward and modify for a variety of learning styles as well as levels of learning.
