My students put this together a few years ago by paraphrasing and adapting the original text. The result is wonderful! The script takes about 25 minutes to perform. Short enough to allow room for discussion, or go on to read what happens next in the novel. Students in my classroom have used the additional class time to debate what they believe the verdict should be and why.
Includes a script of the entire court scene and a list of speaking parts. Does not give away the ending however, so students still have an opportunity to predict, explain and use their critical thinking skills.
Good for a class of approx 20 students or less. There are ways to incorporate more students if necessary. My students had a courtroom artist and evidence clerks. You can also split up speaking roles.
Script follows the text of the original novel but is more manageable for low level readers.
