Differentiate through product with this TKaM project!
This 5-page, .pdf file is a complete project assessing various aspects of the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird (TKaM).
It is in-depth and should take students at least 5-6 weeks to complete. It is intended to be an independent, out-of-class project. It has a presentation component that should take 1-3 days, depending on your class size.
The project has 3 distinct pieces: a written piece (informative or persuasive essay), a creation piece (2 separate creations), and a technology piece (PowerPoint, website, podcast, etc.). It assesses a variety of literary elements including plot, theme, characterization, conflict, and setting. It also assesses writing quality.
There are several bonuses when purchasing this product: 1) with only slight adjustment, it can be used for ANY novel study, 2) it can be used as supplementation for a unit as part of an existing curriculum (i.e. SpringBoard), and 3) it can be used as an extension for gifted/high achieving students.
I do this with my students every year and not only do they enjoy (most aspects of) the project, but I consistently am amazed by the quality and creativity of the work produced. I use TKaM with my 9th grade students, but the actual project components I have used with other novels from 7th grade through 10th grade.
This in .pdf format, but if you would prefer an editable version of the product, please contact me at email@example.com for details.
