“Today at School” Take-Home Notes in Fall Themes: Language Prompters for Students and Their Grownups
These printable notes have two main purposes: The first purpose is to encourage meaningful language exchanges between your students and their “grownups”. .Second, these notes are meant to extend your students’ learning from the classroom to the home.
This set of notes is made up of several different Fall themes. Included are:
- 10 Apple-Themed notes
- 10 Pumpkin Themed notes
- 11 Fall-Themed notes
Each set of notes prints four of the same note on one letter-sized paper That way you can copy just the specific notes that you need.
As you read through the notes, you will notice the questions are based on popular activities that are carried out in many preschool and kindergarten classes. While you may not do all of these activities in your class, the wide variety of notes will hopefully provide you with several that pertain to your classroom as you study these themes.
These notes are written in the first person, as if the student were asking their grownup each question I have always done my take-home notes this way because it’s the way my mother did hers. When she used to teach preschool she would write the questions on a blank label and stick them to her students’ shirt as they left for the day!
