Sometimes students have trouble following the class rules whether it be due to sensory, escape/avoidance, attention or to get a tangible object. Using a token board is a great tool to use to help your student earn what they are working for and help decrease the behavior at the same time. Some students may need reinforcement quickly, while others may be able to earn their reward after a longer period of time. It will be trial and error to figure out where to start unless you have data that will show you how long it takes until your student engages in this behavior again.
Using a timer can be a great tool. Make sure the student is following the rules before they earn their token.
Directions-Cut out token board, paste and laminate onto paper. Cut out and laminate each 'token' and items your student will work for. Attach velcro to each piece and to the spot your tokens will go. You can keep the extra motivator pictures in a sandwich bag or pencil case. Students motivators change a lot. It is great to keep giving them options so they are motivated to follow the rules.
