This is an engaging and detailed lesson (with step-by-step handouts included) on Chapters 9, 10, and 11 of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. There is a Pictionary activity, as well as an activity recreating the crime scene (like detectives!) with paper props on the board. This is a critical-thinking lesson that helps students interpret some difficult text (multiple passages from the book are reread and comprehended), use their visualization skills, and reinforce their comprehension of one of the most important scenes from the novel! There is an answer key, as well.
