Teaching "tone" and "mood" to middle schoolers is challenging. Part of the difficulty is their lack of exposure to adjectives to describe tone and mood. This bundle has students match emojis to a short list of adjectives. Adjectives are grouped in five small sections to allow guided, then independent, practice. A key is provided. The bundle also includes a chart to keep in notebooks and cards to use for sorting, word walls, or identifying tone of passages you pick.
Sidenote: Some of our students disagreed with our choices of Emojis. More adjectives were thrown around as discussion ensued.
