This tone ladder is one of my can't-do-without teaching tools for Kodaly / Orff music classes. I post it where I can easily access it to guide students in solfege practice, explore intervals, and reinforce melodic patterns. Students also enjoy directing melodic practice and guessing mystery tunes using this chart.
I use my Hand Staff Poster and Note Heads
, Solfege Note Heads
, and Note-ables Set
with this tone ladder to enhance instruction and provide visual reinforcement hands-on activities.
I am including three formats: Boomwhackers® colors, KidsPlay™ Hand Bells colors, and black and white. These tone ladder charts consist of three pages each, which are designed to be printed on 8.5 x 11” paper and taped together. When neatly trimmed, taped on the back side, and laminated, the pages will appear as one long chart. The chart may be enlarged or reduced by scaling in your printer settings. If desired, you may choose to trim the header away (space consideration), print additional pages and extend the tone ladder, or create white strips to cover notes not included in a tone set you’re using. (I also laminate these strips and put magnets on the back for quick transitions.)
Please note: this tone ladder is included in my Note-ables Set
, so if you're interested in an expanded product that includes note heads, chord charts, etc. please check that out first.
I hope you will find this as useful as I do. Thanks for stopping by!
