This tone and mood RME (remediate, mediate, enrich-- look this up!) activity is based on in the classroom.
I utilize this activity after I have introduced tone and mood via Power Point slideshow and completed a few tone and mood exercises together. After having the students formally assess themselves using the stoplight technique, I transition to RME time the following day using the worksheets presented in this word doc.
The questions and bubble map is based on Bloom's Taxonomy and Common Core Standards!
The library is a great place to accomplish RME time so that the groups can spread out. R group will be teacher led (reteaching tone and mood/addressing confusion). M group (analyzing pictures, inference skills, ACES writing technique) will be working in partners or individually (teacher discretion). E group (practice writing in certain tones in creative writing assignment) will work independently.
