This is a 14 slide PowerPoint which teaches students about tone and mood. Using photographs and Youtube clips (linked from within the PowerPoint) students learn how photographers and film makers use tone and mood. Students can then transfer this knowledge to written tone and mood. Questions are provided on the PowerPoint for students to answer with each clip. Students look at photographs from Jack and The Beanstalk, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Adolf Hitler. Students look at and answer questions from film clips from Mary Poppins and a cartoon from WWII. The last 2 slides discuss tone and mood in literature. This PowerPoint could be done as a whole class or in small groups or individually if you have computer lab access.
