Product Description
This is great practice identifying different tones found in text and film passages. The passages are mostly from more modern texts, such as "Sleepers" and "The Time Traveler's Wife," with one passage from the movie "Mean Girls." For each passage students must identify at least three different tones and the word(s) that create each tone. For the final example, students find their own passage and identify three tones and the word(s) that create each tone.

My students loved the passages and some showed some interest in reading the books the passages came from. To help them use higher-level tone words beyond sad, mad and happy, check out my free Tone Word Cheat Sheet
