Tongue twisters are motivating, fun to repeat, and often spoken rhythmically. This makes them well-suited for targeting speech sound production, sequencing of sounds within syllables or syllables within words, and suprasegmental or prosodic features such as rate of speech. Ideal for clients with speech sound or fluency difficulties/disorders, but can be used for any.
The tongue twisters are organized by target phonemes and arranged through the pages as follows: bilabial, labiodental, labiovelar, interdental, alveolar, postalveolar, velar, glottal, vowels, and miscellaneous tongue twisters. I have clients reinforce their newly acquired articulation skills in these "phonetically complex sentences" any time after they've reached criterion for the goal (e.g. ≥80% accuracy) at sentence level.
