This is another set of silly scrambled sentences/ tongue twisters! Ten twisters are scrambled! Kids read the scrambled sentences, then write them in order, and then reread to check comprehension and fluency.
In addition, there are 8 cards of sentences to practice reading with fluency and accuracy.
These exercises encourage oral reading fluency. Also, if they unscramble the sentences correctly, this will demonstrate their comprehension.
Lots of /s/ and /sh/ practice!
It's fun to practice writing and rereading these silly sentences, exercises which focus on using alliteration in sentences....primarily initial consonants and the digraph sh.
This can serve as an ELA mini-lesson as well as a SPEECH lesson. The set of tongue twister cards focus on /s/ and /sh/ sounds.
The cards can be used in a literacy station to practice reading orally, writing, and illustrating.
Sequencing--Kids practice word order skills while having fun with alliteration. This skill also reinforces comprehension skills.
After students rewrite the sentences so that they make sense, have them work in pairs to listen to each other read, and to see if some of their sentences vary--which they can do and still make sense.
This set of tongue twisters is also suitable for ELL--a great way to develop fluency and practice grammar and syntax as well.
