This is a remarkable story of a horse named Tony, who helped Tom deliver
eggs, milk and butter to the doorsteps of customers. One special person, the
narrator, loves Tony and writes about him throughout this beautiful story.
Young children will love the pencil drawings of Tony. They will learn,
through my questions, that this was written long ago, and they will think
carefully, by rereading, who the narrator was. They will be able to describe,
at the end of the story, why Tony was such a special “friend” and “animal.”
