Product Description
These dilemmas focus on the value of life raised by the practices of the Inuit people (more commonly known as Eskimos). What happens when two very different cultures confront one another?
In the Asiak/Ernenek Dilemma, Powtee, is not longer able to contribute to the survival of the family and following a special custom, is left to die on the ice. The Mounty dilemma juxtaposes western societal law with the custom, law and cultural vaues of the Eskimos. Inuk accidentally kills a guest when he refuses the offer of his wife. Later a Mounty must decide whether or not to turn Inuk over to the law. Video available. Clips taken from obscure film, "Savage Innocents". See SamuelGomberg@aol.com for details.
