When students analyze complex texts, they need to cite text evidence to support their ideas. The Citing Text Evidence lesson, for grades 4–8, will help your students identify text evidence that supports inferences. This lesson includes a definition, an explanation of how the skill is used, an example, and practice questions with excerpt from real books. The Citing Text Evidence lesson can kick off a reading lesson or serve as an impromptu refresher of skills already introduced. The lesson also includes a separate Answer Key PDF.
