Writers of both fiction and nonfiction texts use imagery to add interest and create pictures in a reader’s mind. The Imagery lesson, for grades 4–8, will help your students understand and analyze imagery. This lesson includes a definition, an explanation of how the skill is used, an example, and practice questions with excerpts from real books. The Imagery lesson can kick off a reading lesson or serve as an impromptu refresher of skills already introduced. The lesson also includes a separate Answer Key PDF.
