What teacher doesn’t love a set of alphabet posters? They are the foundation when creating a print rich environment for young learners. The Tools of the Mind curriculum uses sound maps to help children connect letters and their sounds. Children use their sound maps when writing their daily plans and also when helping the teacher to create the morning message. I created these vowel posters to hang around my Morning Meeting area to help children to become more familiar with the pictures, letters, and sounds that they work with every day on their Tools of the Mind Sound maps. I also sing an alphabet song using these specific posters and pictures to the tune of “Where is Thumbkin?” The song helps the children memorize the letter sounds while the posters are a great visual for matching letter symbols to sounds. This vowel set will work well in any classroom environment and will complement any hands on curriculum. Song lyrics included! Please consider purchasing the consonant set from my TPT store. Enjoy!
