This QR Code activity contains pictures of animals and their teeth to help students practice identifying what an animal eats based on the shape of their teeth. Students look at each animal and their teeth and record their answers on the matching recording sheet. Then, students use a smart device such as an iPod, iPad, tablet, or the computer to self-check their answers by scanning the QR Code to see if they were correct or incorrect. If incorrect, the child will change his or her answers.
Using QR Codes within the classroom provides students with the opportunity to self-check and self-correct their independent work and independent thinking. I hope your students enjoy this activity as much as mine have!
This packet includes animal review printables/ slides (animal teeth, herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores), 18 animal identification cards (with QR codes), student response worksheet, and an answer key.
This investigation was created for a third grade classroom, but would be appropriate for grades 2 - 5.
