Gather a few flat toothpicks and water and you have just what you need for toothpick stars.
Students break the toothpicks nearly in half, place them in an arrangement like a street intersection that creates a star when water is placed in the intersection.
Five videos show you the different options. I explain the activity as if I was presenting the activity to my students.
Consider the activity for an open house or family night. The worksheets included (blackline or color, English or Spanish) make it easy to send the activity home for families to complete together.
