As a complement to phonemic instruction, Eyewords provides a holistic, visual, auditory and kinesthetic approach to teaching the high frequency and functional words.
Each card is double sided. On the first side, a word is embedded with a contextual picture. On the reverse side the same sight word is written in plain text and a meaningful auditory phrase is provided.
This set of Eyewords is targeted at teaching children functional language to express basic needs and wants throughout the instructional day. Words include, I, want, stop, go, yes, no, eat, like, drink and washroom.
