Description

Use these 10 scripts to help students stay on topic during conversations.

Read the script and ask the student to identify the one off topic response from a choice of 3 during each conversational turn.

Or to increase the difficulty, read the entire script and have the student to identify the one off topic response during the entire conversation. (Each script can be read 3 times. Respond with all “a” answers the first time; then with all “b” and then “c”)

Increase awareness by having your student explain why responses are on or off topic.

Once your student can identify off topic responses have them produce their own responses to the prompts while trying to maintain the topic independently.

Photos are provided as a visual cue to remind your student of the topic of conversation.

Great for students with Autism and Pragmatic Language Disorders

Can be used for students in Elementary School, Middle School and High School.

This was a good product. Instead of only identifying which comment was off topic, I had my students come up with their own responses that were on topic.
