Have you ever had a student stuck or in a panic over what to make whether it be at an independent work time or start a work of art or writing project?
The ArtJet Studio/Topic Wheel Spinner was created for students who are searching for a theme/themes to generate and create. The spin-board has over 48, broad themes arranged in alphabetical order around a bulls-eye-style circle or graphic organizer. A large arrow (for the spinner) can be cut out of the bottom of the sheet and pinned lightly to the board with a brass-fastener for the student to spin. Suggestions for narrowing down topics is also included in the directions on the sheet. Kids also come up with their own way of narrowing down a choice. However, with my experience using the Topic Wheel I find students just find it cathartic spinning the spinner and looking all over the wheel for ideas.
Keep your ArtJet Studio Topic Wheel posted on a bulletin/white board for the kids to use whenever they panic over narrowing down a topic for creating. Personally, I have been using this in my elementary artroom for over 5 years and ALL of the kids use it from time to time. Even the general ed. classroom teachers in my school have also asked for the Topic Wheel for their students for a variety of writing and project oriented lessons. You can use this with all ages even with adults!
*Laminating the ArtJet Studio Topic Wheel sheet before cutting out the spinner is strongly advised but not necessary.
**A Smooth heavy weight paper stock such as "Staple Supreme Matte 61lb Paper" makes for a great, color print-out.
