Perfect for high school and adult study, these Bible Study Notes pages on the topics of Anointing, Assurance, Boldness, Call of God, Care Over Much and Good Children, are a study and journaling aid for individual topical bible study.
I made these printable notes pages for my own personal study of various topics in the Bible. I found that I preferred to write my notes on pen and paper but I couldn't find any printable sheets that had a comprehensive listing of all verses within a topic with corresponding fill in the blank notes sections.
The following six topics and corresponding verses are taken from Torrey's New Topical Textbook to help you study what the Bible says about:
1) Anointing (knowing what you're uniquely designed for)
2) Assurance (what can we be assured of in this life?)
3) Boldness (confidence and courage for life)
4) The Call of God (what is the call in our life?)
5) Care Over Much (learning how to rest and let go of worry)
6) Children, Good (what are the characteristics of good children?)
With over 60 pages of notes pages, you can print these, make a binder and begin studying. These notes pages list all of the verses in the Bible for these various subjects, making them complete and comprehensive overview of these topics.
In using these notes pages, I recommend using a study bible to read the context of each verse and, optionally, an online word definition look up tool I find particularly helpful (I use Olive Tree app on my iPhone with a study Bible with Strong's Numbers).
In the spaces provided on the sheets, I suggest simply recording the thoughts that come to mind for each verse. In many of the topics, you or your students may be surprised at how much there is to study. Resist the urge to get overwhelmed with the vastness of the content. Just record your thoughts on each of the verses and as you go through the topic, certain themes will simply crystallize naturally and effortlessly in your mind through the work of the Holy Spirit in instructing you.
After a week of individual study, you could ask your students to write up two to three main points or practical life "take aways" that they got and let that lead to a vibrant discussion in your classroom or homeschool.
At some point in the future, I'd like to add detail to these study sheets as a separate product but for now, they are simply a listing of the verses for each topic (and also include "subheadings") and write-in spaces for thoughts on each verse, without any additional "commentary". I like this though, because it leaves the Holy Spirit and the individual studying together without any outside voices to steer the study.
