Pages 3-5: Amazing Word Cards
Pages 6-10: Spelling Word and Challenge Word Cards
Pages 11-13: Word Wise (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students pick six of the compound words to write and then use them in sentences.
Pages 14: Word Work: Students find compound words in magazines or books. Write the compound word and write a sentence using the word.
Pages 15-16: Let’s Write! (I hang up the advertisement poster to help student remember what an advertisement is). Students create an advertisement about their favorite place to visit and write three sentences to persuade someone to visit their favorite place.
Pages 17: Words To Know: Students think of everyday items names with compound words. Write sentences using those words. On the back, make a list of other compound words.
Page 18: Read For Meaning (Read a Leveled Reader. Draw a conclusion about what happens to the character in the Leveled Reader. Write one sentence telling your conclusion and two supporting it).
Page 19: I included a portion of Tops & Bottoms for students to read for fluency.
