Your primary grade students will love comparing and contrasting both the character traits and what grows in the garden of Bear and Hare in Janet Steven's adaptation of TOPS AND BOTTOMS.
This picture book fable also teaches a great life lessons, and lends itself well to a variety of friendly letter-writing activities. A blank template is provided along with color picture cards that can be used in a pocket chart to sort the differences between the story characters and the vegetables harvested.
Have fun integrating Science, Language Arts, and Growth Mindset concepts as you share this beautifully illustrated mentor text, and be sure to read about how I use it in my classroom in this blog post that I wrote for The Reading Crew's 2017 Spring Mentor Text Linky!
