Students are told that their teacher has won a trip to see the total eclipse overseas (you will need to use the first linked website to pick the eclipse closest to the time you plan to do this project). The students have been chosen as travel agents and they need to research which country will be the best option for you to travel to to see the eclipse. They will need to research the following:
- What continents will be able to see that eclipse and than what countries are located on those continents?
- What attractions are there to do in that country?
- What is the tidal range between high and low tide? (I tell them I can't swim well so it needs to be less than a 2 foot difference)
- What natural features may block my view? (They need to research if that country has any mountain ranges, hills, canyons, etc. that may impact my ability to view the sky).
