Our K-5 Global Gateway lesson plans are student-centered and follow a PBI structure of:

In the lesson, Totem Pole Art, students will compare and contrast the art and culture of North America.
Students will:
1) Locate North America on the map, as well as Canada, the United States and Mexico.
2) Identify the similarities in art found in Canada and the U.S.
3)Understand the significance and meaning of the Canadian totem pole.
4) Create a Canadian totem pole that reflects characteristics of them or their family.
