This resource will introduce touch points to students for numbers 1-9. They can begin with the larger posters for teacher led instruction as well as a visual resource to be posted in the classroom. Students can then move to the flashcards for independent practice of touching the points. Once students have a solid understanding of the touch points for each number, they can use the touch math strip as a resource to use when adding, subtraction, and even multiplying!
I would suggest teaching your students to follow the same order when touching the touch points in order to create a routine for each number. As you'll notice, the number 9 has a smiley face in the middle. Many students have a difficult time with the number 9 due to how many points there are so I tell my students to think of the number 9 as a girl with a braid. Students will touch the eyes and smile in the number 9 as points.
Enjoy! I can't wait to see how your students flourish with this strategy!
